Emergency responders briefly shut down a large stretch of Interstate 65 after a train derailment Tuesday in Hardin County.

The city of Elizabethtown confirmed the freight train derailment was reported before 9 p.m. in Colesburg, just off the interstate.

According to officials, the train derailment initially forced the northbound and southbound interstate closure from Exit 105 at Lebanon Junction to Exit 91 in Elizabethtown.
