Emergency Medical Services (EMS) crews at one agency are administering the overdose reversal drug naloxone, also called Narcan, “at least five times a week,” EMS Chief Mike Riordan with St. Matthews Fire and Rescue said Monday. “This is just one EMS agency,” he said. “If you combine all of us, you’ve got a high utilization of Narcan on a weekly basis that is just taken for granted.
